Is it really the end?
This post, you can say its stupid~
Last week, one of the subjects i’m taking this semester, Film & TV, we were suppose to choose a topic to present. Be it nudity, politics, business, anything, BUT it must be related with Film & TV. The team consists of me, Gerard (Jerry Boi) and Eyvon. Awesome group it was. hehe. U got one laidback (me), Gerard (latecomer) and Eyvon (the cute one). We somehow, chose the topic, and awesome and magnificent one- FACTS vs. FICTION. wow. I don’t know why but i felt that i just dug my own grave. But i think its just me, going for such thing. I love trying something i never heard of before, such as this topic. Its interesting. =) i just can’t expect what i would stumble upon while doing research on it. I really didn’t expect anything.
I was given the task to do on the subtopic of apocalyptic movies- 2012 which will be screened this coming November. Its about the end of the Mayan Calendar, and the cataclysmic events that would turn Earth into, a rotting planet. Burnt. Destroyed. Soupy (watery-no land). and so on…
Me being me, fine. I’ll do it. I checked the website. Was going through it. I didn’t expect anything, just to get some information and just get it over with. But slowly as i give in my attention to the website… i start to believe in what i read…
www.whowillsurvive2012.com
I actually questioned all the facts that were stated in the site, such as the existence of Planet X or Nibiru, the movement of the Earth’s core and all. I wouldn’t blame myself for actually had a pinch of believe in it, the Earth ain’t going better anyways. Politics here politics there, bomb here and there.
Then the Word just hits me. In the book of Revelation itself written there, many is to come; catastrophes, calamity, suffering, liars, pretenders, etc.
I questioned myself, why in the world i actually slipped off and actually believed in such stupid idea that “the world’s ending this coming 2012!”. i wanna watch the Olympics. I want to see how will England try to ‘defeat’ China with its launch.
The whole apocalyptic movie thing.. really is depressing. It makes u think… what if i actually die tomorrow? What if the world ends in 15 days, 2 months, 3 years time? What am i supposed to do? These questions… i asked myself these questions.
It reminds of the song, ‘No Tomorrow’ by Planetshalers. Now, i’ve decided to live my life, to be what i’m suppose to be, whoever that God wants me to be. Ain’t easy though. Thats life. U can never predict when u will die, when the world will end. Even Jesus doesn’t know when is His second coming, except the Father. =)
i’m glad i finish this assignment.. Depressing topic sial… lol.
=)
VIVA LA VIDA! live like there’s no tomorrow… but usually, i’m very laidback. living the life like tomorrow never ends. sigh. k la.
Selamat Hari Gawai, gayu guru gerai nyamai (past edi). Garu garu asal nyamai-to alll my Iban friends.
